Hello everyone. My name is Oren, I am a retired Air Force medic, a certified BMW motorcycle mechanic, MSF RiderCoach and owner of Lost Highways - an Arizona-based adventure motorcycle rental business. My passion for motorcycle riding began with exploration, navigating the scenic mountain roads through the Dolomites in northern Italy. Those rides became a sanctuary and a brief respite from the high operations tempo at the only U.S. Fighter wing south of the Alps. I also found some of the best cafes along the way. I retired from the United States Air Force in 2020 after 9 assignments and more than 24 years on active duty to start a new chapter.

Post-military life led me to the Motorcycle Mechanic Institute, where I gained motorcycle technician certifications in Harley Davidson and BMW motorcycles. Following this, I worked at an independent BMW motorcycle repair shop in Phoenix, Arizona. At this time, I transitioned from riding American V-Twin cruisers to Bavarian Adventure bikes for the performance, design and utility of a BMW GS, the swiss army knife of motorcycles. From then on my riding experience changed. I loved where I could go on my R1250 GS. I was riding roads less traveled with more confidence on all types of terrain through gravel, dirt, rocks, water and sand. I viewed landscapes and reached remote destinations I never thought possible on two-wheels. Soon after, I started ‘Lost Highways’.

Lost Highways is my passion project. A personal business venture that allows me to maintain a small rental fleet of premium adventure touring motorcycles and share some of my favorite routes to ride in Arizona, both on and off the pavement. Additionally, I recommend select campsites for motocamping at state and national parks, bureau of land management and federal service department campgrounds. Most of which my wife and I enjoy spending time to relax and connect with the natural surroundings in our home state of Arizona.
